25.11.2016 - Winners of the Project Management Championship 2016 in Finland

We are happy to tell that Project Management Championship 2016 in Finland was won by University of Oulu and one member of the winning team was our NESTIX employee Eetu Rantanen. Other members were Tuomas Alatulkkila, Peetu Virkkala and Aleksi Autio. This year 79 teams took part in the qualification round, after the initial rounds the team from the University of Oulu advanced to the finals.

In the final round, the teams had to solve a difficult case provided by the sponsor of the event – Ramboll. The teams were required to develop a plan that supported the communication between teams working at multiple sites, managing stakeholders and optimizing an efficient usage of the available resources, all of course within the given time constraints.

After presenting the results to a panel of project management experts, the team of University of Oulu was awarded the 1st place in this prestige competition.

The prize for winning the competition, a certificate of the Finnish PMC, is a chance to participate in the international finals in June 2017, in Croatia. Winners also get an opportunity to take IPMA-D (International Project Management Association) certification free of charge.

We congratulate Eetu and his fellow team members and wish them luck for the international finals!
